Barbara Rose, MFT, Psychotherapist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

About Me

I gained my experience in a variety of settings: community centers and institutes in Marin and Napa, and a high school in the East Bay prior to my current private practice in San Rafael and San Francisco. My supervised training at the Community Institute for Psychotherapy included a clinical focus on eating disorders and couples therapy. At an adolescent day treatment setting in the East Bay, I trained in individual, group and family work, as well as milieu therapy. I participate in ongoing trainings and consultation groups to continue to learn and grow as a therapist and to stay current with development and understanding in the field of psychotherapy.

  • Education: I received my M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the Institute of Imaginal Studies in Petaluma, California and my B.S. in Psychology from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon.
  • License: MFC 41113 by the Board of Behavioral Sciences, State of California.
  • Member: California Therapists for Marriage Equality (CTME), San Francisco Chapter of California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (SFCAMFT), American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
